ABOUT
Hello I’m Megan, owner and stylist at The Parlor. I was practically raised in a hair salon, but before I officially committed to the beauty industry, I actually earned a degree in psychology. Today, I get the best of both worlds. I like to call it "chair therapy"—so if you sit down and trauma-dump within the first five minutes, just know you didn’t weird me out, you weirded me in. My clients instantly become friends and family. I'm a collector of “moms”, always looking to be adopted and always seeking clients who become part of my community outside of the salon. I find women so fascinating, spending time in such an intimate setting and giving women confidence fulfills me in ways I cannot explain. I love what I do. My biggest loves are my two beautiful kids and the love of my life, my partner; we found each other after recently ending my starter marriage. (iykyk)
When you're in my chair, we get intimate quick, we get a little loud, and we laugh a lot and sometimes cry. In the salon you will find me in my own little cozy corner, our cutie conversation parlor within The Parlor. I love to matchmake my clients so I can double-book and we can all kiki and chat together. I am a classic hairdresser at heart—I live for traditional highlighting, gray blending and transformations, a chic bob haircut, and voluminous blowouts for the gods. (And yes, I am chronically just a few minutes behind, but I promise the vibe is worth it.) Most of my clients are 40+, I love experienced humans.
Outside the salon, I’m what I like to call an "outdoor cat." You can usually find me with my family and friends porch sitting, enjoying drinks on a patio, hiking, camping, kayaking, or walking downtown for a bite to eat. I’m a lover of all cheeses, except stinky blue cheese. I’ve always had dogs, but I recently discovered that I am, indeed, a cat person.
